Assembly of reinforcing mesh with flying ends

Reinforcing mesh with flying ends, or B-mesh, can be installed efficiently because they are provided with flying ends on one long and one short side. The flying ends ensure a good connection to the next reinforcing mesh. This eliminates unnecessary double reinforcement and results in a flatter floor field.

B-mesh are the standard reinforcing mesh in Belgium. Material quality: B500A

What are Reinforcing mesh suitable for?

Reinforcing mesh are used in the concrete of concrete floors and walls. The mesh serve as reinforcement of the concrete to absorb the tensile force in the concrete. This is necessary to prevent cracks in the concrete and possible subsidence.

What type of Reinforcing mesh do I need?

The type and quantity of Reinforcing mesh you need depends on various factors. The diameter of the reinforcement, the accessibility of the construction site and the transport will influence this. BEC and B reinforcing mesh

The benefits: 

  • Due to the large size, quick to apply
  • Provided with flying ends for lapping length so these mesh work efficiently.

The disadvantages:

  • Not suitable for all construction sites because of the size 
  • Not suitable for handling by one person because of the weight 

BS reinforcing mesh

The benefits:

  • Due to its size suitable for working in small spaces 
  • Suitable for fast and single processing

The disadvantages:

  • Due to the size extra lapping length and thus reinforcement in the floor 

PS reinforcing mesh

The benefits:

  • Easy to transport and move
  • Suitable for fast and single processing

The disadvantages:

  • A lot of reinforcement in the corners where the mesh overlap
  • A lot of redundant reinforcement in the floor 

Strip foundation mesh

Strip foundation mesh are suitable for strip foundations. A method of foundation on a fixed substrate, which is often used for houses built on sandy soil. Reinforcing mesh with flying ends on one short side. This ensures a good connection with the next strip foundation mesh. 

The benefits: 

  • Available in many different widths
  • Easy to transport and move
  • Suitable for single processing

The disadvantages:

  • Only applicable for strip foundations

Single directional mesh

Single directional mesh are suitable for an efficient and rapid installation of large floors. Available in large diameters and they comply with the standard for physical load and eurocode 2.

The benefits:

  • No additional lifting aid or crane required when processing larger-diameter floors
  • Equipped with flying ends for the lapping length so that these mesh work efficiently

The disadvantages:

  • Not suitable for all construction sites because of its size

V + E reinforcing mesh

Apply V-mesh instead of bars over floor joints and E-mesh to be used in combination with lattice girder floors.

The benefits:

  • Quick and efficient processing
  • Easy to transport and move
  • Suitable for single processing

Customized reinforcing mesh

The benefits:

  • Optimal arrangement of the reinforcement
  • No superfluous reinforcement, which saves costs

The disadvantages:

  • Less favourable in terms of price due to higher start-up costs for smaller quantities

Floor heating mesh

Mesh to attach the hoses for underfloor heating and as a wire mesh in a concrete topping or cement screed to pervent cracking due to shrinkage tension

The benefits:

  • Galvanised wire so no corrosion
  • The mesh are without flying ends and have no protruding points
